Bespoke & Custom
Have something in mind that doesn’t quite exist yet?
That's my favourite kind of project.
Some pieces begin with a colour, a purpose or an object that needs a home. Others begin with, ‘This might sound a bit strange, but could you make…?’ From personalised gifts and one-off bags to organisers, covers and wonderfully specific practical problems, custom projects are designed and made individually in the Thread & Temper workshop.
How it works
Have an idea? Send me a message and tell me what you're thinking — sketches, photos, measurements and slightly questionable explanations are all welcome.
We'll work through the design together, including leather, colour, hardware, size and the little details that make the piece yours. Once we've settled on the design, I'll confirm the price and expected timeframe.
Custom pieces are invoiced directly through Thread & Temper rather than purchased through the online store. You'll receive an invoice with secure online payment options, and once payment is received, your piece is officially in the workshop queue.
As every custom piece is made individually, lead times vary depending on the project and materials required. I'll confirm this with you before you commit and keep you updated as your piece takes shape.
Natural leather varies in grain, colour and markings — that's part of what makes each piece unique. Where appropriate, I'll work with you to select materials that suit the character you're after.
Take a wander through the gallery for a few examples of what’s come out of the workshop so far — including solutions to problems I didn’t know existed until someone asked!
